BEHAVIOURAL ECONOMICS (B.E.)

Behavioural economics (B.E.) is about understanding why we do what we do as regards behaviours with a strong economic element.

Through understanding heuristics (mental shortcut rules of thumb) and the hundreds of documented cognitive biases (systematic errors in thinking) we can derive significantly deeper insights from research.

We use B.E. most commonly in qualitative research, although we also use it in quantitative research.

In both cases it is sometimes used alongside other approaches such as behaviour change models.
